It is very difficult to remain calm when visiting the hematology department, that is full with patients in serious condition, new patientsю
Here we want to introduce you to another fighter for life, with a girl who struggles to survive. Nicoleta Negrescu, who’s 14 years and was diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukemia, M4. In this family there are two children, she and her younger brother, who is two years old.
Nicoleta is a very cheerful child; she loves to sing, dance ballet and is always smiling. But the smile was wiped from her face in March, after she was hospitalized in the hematology department. For the family the news that Nicoleta has cancer was a big shock.
4 years ago, the girl's mother, Natalia, was also seriously ill - she was diagnosed with cirrhosis. Now her mother is waiting for a liver transplant, and at the same time she’s praying for the life of her daughter. Natalia lives more in the hospital, sometimes alone, sometimes with Nicoleta and it is very difficult to cope with all the expenses, when in the house there are two disabled persons and a baby. Natalia's husband is the only one working in the family, but the treatment of his wife and daughter are too expensive. Nicoleta have been through a lot and she even managed to stop the leukemia! The disease came to remission, but in order to make this remission permanent, she still needs chemotherapy and Tiaguanina pills, which are not available in Moldova. Nicoleta needs 2-2.5 boxes per month, which cost around 200 euros. The entire treatment costs about 4,800 euros and the parents simply do not have these money.
Their only hope is for their beloved daughter to get better....
