A message from his Mother:

Hello, my name is Nadejda Borduc, and I am the mother of 15-year-old Savva. From birth, Savva has suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a serious heart condition. We were able to raise enough money for Savva to undergo surgery in Germany, and in early July, we traveled to Berlin full of hope. However, after further examinations, the doctors presented us with a new bill that was five times more expensive than we had anticipated. Under the stress of this news, Savva's health took a turn for the worse. We urgently searched for another hospital and found a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, willing to perform the surgery. Sadly, precious time was lost. Before we could admit him, Savva's organs began to fail, and he was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, where he was placed in the ICU and fell into a coma.
A week later, Savva underwent emergency heart surgery while still in a coma. The sugery lasted 10 hours. Though the surgery was successful, his condition remained critical. For the next week, Savva was kept on an ECMO machine for circulatory support and a ventilator to help him breathe. When doctors tried to bring him out of the coma, it became clear he couldn’t breathe on his own. After another week, they performed a tracheostomy to assist with his breathing.
In the days that followed, Savva experienced heart issues, a spike in blood pressure, and a high fever of 42°C. Doctors performed a bronchoscopy and removed a blood clot from his lungs, but he then suffered internal bleeding in both his lungs and stomach. Every day, Savva undergoes plasmapheresis to replenish his body with plasma.
Savva has now been in the ICU for four weeks in a coma. As of today, it’s the seventh week, and though he occasionally wakes up, he cannot speak or move much. The treatment continues, and the doctors are doing everything they can. Recovery is slow and will take time. Unfortunately, the treatment costs have escalated beyond what we expected, and the medical expenses have now reached €82,900.
I am reaching out to you with tears in my eyes but with hope in my heart that you can help us. I am begging, on my knees, for your assistance in raising the funds needed for his treatment. I know there are kind and generous people in the world who won’t turn away from our pain. Please, help Savva survive! Offer him the gift of life!
