Greetings! We are Oleg and Iulia Sadcovschii, young parents who, on June 10, 2020, were blessed to welcome our precious and long-awaited son, Alexandru. Until six months of age, Alexandru developed just like any other child: he could hold his head up, grab toys, turn over, and even sit up. But on January 2, 2021, a tragedy struck our family — Alexandru tested positive for COVID-19. Due to complications, he suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with leukoencephalomalacia, spastic tetraparesis, and a severe form of epilepsy that does not respond to medications.

Alexandru has tried all available antiepileptic treatments, but none have helped. Currently, his seizures have worsened, reaching over 30 a day, with epilepsy advancing rapidly. The only solution left is a complex surgery to remove the epileptic focus, but this surgery is incredibly expensive for our family, which is why we are asking for help from those who feel moved to assist.

It is heartbreaking to see our son suffer through each seizure, occurring every 20–40 minutes. Due to these constant seizures, Alexandru cannot develop normally; he cannot sit up or even hold his head. Recently, on May 20, 2024, Alexandru experienced a prolonged seizure lasting over 10 hours, which did not respond to medication and resulted in another stroke.

Without the surgical removal of the epileptic focus in his brain, these seizures and strokes will continue. Despite everything, we believe in miracles and want to give our son a chance at life. Alexandru is a true fighter and wants to live.

Your kindness in helping our child will return to you tenfold. We humbly ask each of you to help Alexandru overcome this illness, so he can explore the world and, one day, call us “Mama” and “Tata.” Our greatest wish is for Alexandru to wake up and fall asleep with a smile, instead of tears and permanent medications that offer only slight relief.
