Hello, my name is Angela Bujor, and I’m the mother of Matei, a 9-year-old boy who was diagnosed with a heart defect just days after he was born.
Diagnosis: transposition of the major arteries, ventricular septal defect, severe mixed stenosis of the pulmonary valve, and a single coronary artery.
Unfortunately, such surgeries aren’t performed in Moldova, so the doctors advised us to look for a clinic abroad. We found care at the Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center in Kyiv, Ukraine, where Matei has already undergone several surgeries.
Last year, during a follow-up exam, Matei needed another surgery. Now, he requires further surgery to replace the conduit/tube in his pulmonary artery, but the cost is far beyond what we can afford. From the bottom of our hearts, we appeal to people of goodwill to help us gather the necessary funds.
