In the intensive care unit, all newborns, including premature babies, are treated. During 2019, 745 children underwent treatment, of which 70% were born prematurely. Most premature babies are born with a body weight of less than 2 kg, but 30% are those who have a body weight of 500 grams to 1.5 kg. These children are the most vulnerable. Having got rid of controlled respiratory support, they move on to the next stage of treatment, in which they require not only the assistance of medical staff, but their mother's care as well, to feed them, take care of them and offer them love! For this stage of treatment, the unit has special wards! It treats children with various pathologies, such as heart disease, kidney disease, congenital pneumonia, genetic abnormalities such as Down syndrome, Spina Bifida, hemolytic disease of the newbornы and many other diseases requiring treatment and long-term care. Since the treatment takes so long, it is very important for the mother to be close to the baby! The conditions for mothers are not the best, but they adapt to the situation in order to be able to be close to their children. The department was last renovated 14 years ago, thanks to a Swiss fund. We urge you to show compassion and kindness, because only together we can provide better conditions for mothers and children who are fighting for their lives. Thank you.
